2023 Race Overview

The 2023 Emilia Romagna Grand Prix will take place over 63 laps of the 4.909-kilometer Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari in Imola, Italy. The race is scheduled for April 23 and will be the fourth round of the 2023 Formula One World Championship.

Circuit History

The Imola circuit was built in 1953 and has hosted the San Marino Grand Prix 27 times between 1980 and 2006. The circuit is known for its challenging layout, which includes the iconic Tamburello corner and the Variante Alta chicane. The circuit was renamed the Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari in 1988 in honor of the late Ferrari founder Enzo Ferrari and his son Dino.

2022 Race Highlights

The 2022 Emilia Romagna Grand Prix was won by Max Verstappen of Red Bull Racing. Verstappen started the race from third on the grid but overtook Charles Leclerc of Ferrari on the opening lap. Verstappen led the race for the majority of the distance and eventually won by a margin of 16 seconds. Leclerc finished second, with Sergio Perez of Red Bull Racing completing the podium.
